What this tool does

What metadata cleaning can and can’t remove

We remove file metadata. Visible watermarks, invisible pixel watermarks and platform-side AI detection are separate.

This cleaner can remove

  • C2PA / Content Credentials and related source information
  • XMP, IPTC and private EXIF / GPS data
  • Embedded prompts, workflow and generator information
  • Supported metadata in MP4 and MOV videos

This cleaner does not remove

  • Visible watermarks or logos
  • Invisible pixel watermarks such as SynthID
  • AI detection based on pixels or a platform’s upload history
  • A guarantee that a platform removes its AI label

Removing file metadata does not control how a social platform labels a post.

Is this AI metadata cleaner free?

Yes. You can currently clean up to 5 files per day without signing up. No credit card is required.

What is AI metadata?

Metadata is information stored inside a file about how it was created or edited. AI files can include generator names, prompts, workflows, XMP and C2PA / Content Credentials.

Does this remove C2PA / Content Credentials?

For supported files, we remove supported embedded C2PA / Content Credentials and scan the cleaned file again. This does not remove invisible watermarks.

Does it remove EXIF and GPS?

Yes. We remove supported EXIF/GPS and private camera metadata. We keep only information needed for the image to display correctly.

Does cleaning change image or video quality?

On supported files, no. Images keep their original image content, and supported videos are cleaned without re-encoding video or audio.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Images and videos are processed in your browser; the media file itself is not uploaded.

Will removing metadata remove an Instagram, Facebook or TikTok AI label?

Not guaranteed. Platforms may use file metadata, pixels, upload history and other signals. This tool only removes supported file metadata.

What file formats and sizes are supported?

JPG / JPEG, PNG and WebP images up to 50 MiB; MP4 and MOV videos up to 100 MiB. One file at a time. If a file cannot be handled safely, we show an error instead of changing it.

Is AI metadata removal the same as AI detection?

No. Metadata cleanup removes information stored inside the file. AI detection may analyze the pixels or video itself.
